WHAT

PayDirt funds groups, projects, programs, and events that aim to improve access to riding bicycles.

WHO

501(c)3 Non-profits and NGOs

Grassroots organizations/clubs/groups

Individuals (i.e. trailbuilders, community organizers, visionaries)

WHERE

PayDirt is an international fund, so we welcome applications from all parts of the world. However, the admin team is based in the U.S., so the application must be submitted in English language to be considered.

WHEN

The 2024 application period is currently closed. Check back in late July of 2025 for the next round of applications.

FUNDING PROCESS

1. Applications are received and reviewed for suitability. We may reach out to individuals/organizations to learn more about the proposal.

2. PayDirt board reviews top applications.

3. Recipients chosen by the PayDirt board are contacted by the administrator within a few weeks after the application period closes to talk through the award and plan next steps.

PROJECT EXAMPLES

  • New trail or path construction projects
  • Trail/pathway maintenance, improvement and re-alignment projects
  • Educational programs, such as workshops, training for staff, youth programs, etc.
  • Race events that have a significant stewardship element to them
  • Fundraising events that have a significant stewardship element to them
  • Conducting studies or reports that ultimately serve the purpose of increasing access for trails
  • Land purchases for public accessibility
  • Signage or mapping projects
  • Tools and safety equipment
